It appears to ask for authorization any time it encounters an .env file whose contents hasn't been authorized before: see this pull request and related commits

@Jim: While that commit does support authentication, the README clearly states otherwise. I suspect verification is optional, now.

Also, they don't seem to have any mechanism for ENV teardown when leaving a directory.
